Chris Kewistep

Bella Bella artist, Chris Kewistep playing with 2 puppets he designed: Splash the Orca and Bizzy the Beaver. Part of an educational line of puppets, books, puzzles, and games that are increasingly becoming part of the curriculum. Chris is the son of artist Ben Houstie and is a talented designer and jeweler. Chris is guided by a long legacy of artists in his family, who have been committed to honoring their Native traditions. Chris’ father, Ben Houstie, has been an important mentor in learning this unique Native art form.
