REDMOND “QAWAM” ANDREWS
LIL’WAT NATION
Redmond Qawan Andrews is a graduate of the Indigenous Youth Ambassador Program and now is a Cultural Ambassador and part of the Spo7ez Performance Team at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre. Redmond is also an artisan wood carver inspired by his late father Bruce Edmonds, carving in the stylings of the Lil’wat Nation. His art can be found in private collections around the world! He also helped with the fatherland pole with Ed Archie NoiseCat of Lil’wat Nation that is at the end of the great hall here at the SLCC. He helped with one of the Sister Poles, they are located by the Giftshop/Café entrance at the SLCC. He worked alongside master carver Jonathon Joe. Redmond as worked on the community reconciliation canoe Project with Chief Ray Natraoro a master carver of the Squamish Nation.
