Flower of the Thunderbirds – Adjustable Sterling Silver Wrap Ring
In Honour of Lady of the Thunderbirds

This floral ring was created to honour my late grandmother, known as Lady of the Thunderbirds. She was a gifted beadwork artist whose floral patterns carried the beauty, strength, and healing of our traditions. As I carved this piece, I thought about her hands, her teachings, and the stories passed through her beadwork — each flower a connection to Mother Earth and to our way of life.

The flower design is also influenced by Pacific Northwest Coast art — a visual language I’ve worked with for many years. This blending of styles is a reflection of my own journey, rooted in Cree tradition and shaped by years of cultural learning and carving on the coast.

The ring was hand-carved in wax and cast using the lost wax casting method to preserve the integrity of the original design. It is crafted in .925 sterling silver, and its wrap design allows for adjustability from size 5 to 11, offering comfort and flexibility. The interior is hallmarked with .925 and bears my artist initials as a mark of authenticity.
