CD - Songs From Our Nations Volume 3

Songs From Our Nations Volume 3 is a compilation of twelve traditional hand drum songs recorded by the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre Ambassadors.  Building on the success of Songs From Our Nations Volume 1 and 2 this project fosters Skwxwu7mesh Snichim (Squamish language) and Ucwalmicwts (Lil’wat Language) reclamation efforts connecting nation members to language and culture and promoting healing through the celebration of song drumming and language use.  This project was supported by a grant from Canada Council for the Arts.

Songs From Our Nations Volume 3 was Co-produced by Chief Ashley Joseph Lil'wat and Wesley Nahanee Squamish. We give thanks to them and the support we received from knowledge keepers of both Nation. Gratefully we acknowledge the permission to sing and record these songs that have been given to us by each songs keeper.
