Doug LaFortune is one of the most widely known west coast native artists. Born in Bellingham, Washington USA in 1953, Doug was inspired and encouraged by Simon Charlie, a world-renowned artist, to pursue his talents and start his career as a artisan in 1973. Based on classic Coast Salish design, Doug has developed a unique and distinctive style whether in carving or graphic designs. Doug has been commissioned to carve numerous totem poles that have been sent around the world.
