Roger Smith was born January 6, 1984 and was raised on Haida Gwaii. He is a Haida artist from the Eagle clan, Tsaalth Laanaas; his Haida name is Naad Kaa,wang which means “walking away from trouble into the sunset”. The mediums he works with right now are canvas and paper. He has strong designing and print-making skills and now, being enrolled in the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art First Nations Fine Art program.
