Corey was born in Seattle, Washington in April 14, 1970. He is of Tsimshian heritage; Lax Kw'alaams band (Port Simpson, British Columbia) and currently lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Corey works in several mediums including gold and silver jewelry, wood carving and original paintings. Presently he's expressing himself in gold and silver hand engraved jewelry; design and craftsmanship being foremost in all his pieces. Art has always been prevalent in Corey's life from a young age. He is a self-taught artist, drawing from his appreciation of the spirit and beauty in the art form of his ancestors.
Recently, one of his projects was to design and paint a thirty-one-foot fiberglass replica of a traditional northwest coast canoe. The canoe was part of "vision quest-journeys 1997", a one-thousand-mile journey down the pacific coast to raise awareness and funds for a recovery center for all addictions. The vision and journey were organized by Tsimshian artist Roy Henry Vickers and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. It was a great honor for Corey to be part of "vision quest", and paddle the canoe that he designed and painted.
Corey studies and practices the techniques that inspire him from artists such as Charles Edenshaw, Bill Reid and Robert Davidson.
